About

Gabriel Moraes is a Brazilian guitarist, composer, and educator based in Vienna-Austria since 2015. He innovates by bringing the tradition of northeastern culture mixed with the freedom of European jazz into his music. Gabriel is an Ibanez Guitars Artist. As a musician, he has played with important names in jazz, Brazilian music, and the European/Austrian scene: such as Chico César, Vincent Segal, Harold Mabern, Doug Hammond, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Aydin Esen, Phil DeGreg, Alejandro Chiabrando, Mark Rapp, Christoph Cech, Stephan Braun, Peter Herbert, Per Mathisen, Die Junge Philharmonie Wien, Kiko Freitas, Pascoal Meirelles, Pinto do Acordeon, Derico Alves, Waldonys, Jorge de Altinho, Genival Lacerda, As Bastianas, Eliezer Setton, Zé Calixto and others. He has performed at major clubs such as Porgy & Bess (AUT), The Dome (UK), and Tollhaus (ALE) and at festivals in England, Germany, Holland, Poland, Croatia, Italy, and other countries. He is currently working on the production of the album called “Entre” with the Gabriel Moraes Trio, which will be recorded in Vienna and released in 2024.
